Q 1: What is meant by term classroom assessment? Explain types of assessment you mostly
prefer to assess the learning of students at the end of class.

Classroom assessment is the process, usually conducted by teachers, of designing, collecting, interpreting,
and applying information about student learning and attainment to make educational decisions. There are
four interrelated steps to the classroom assessment process. The first step is to define the purposes for the
information. During this period, the teacher considers how the information will be used and how the
assessment fits in the students’ educational program. The teacher must consider if the primary purpose of
the assessment is diagnostic, formative, or sum-mative. Gathering information to detect student learning
impediments, difficulties, or prerequisite skills are examples of diagnostic assessment. Information collected
on a frequent basis to provide student feedback and guide either student learning or instruction are
formative purposes for assessment, and collecting information to gauge student attainment at some point
in time, such as at the end of the school year or grading period, is summative assessment.

Q 1: Define different concept of curriculum. Critically analyze the process of curriculum planning
in Pakistan.

Curriculum refers to the means and materials with which students will interact for the purpose of achieving
identified educational outcomes. Arising in medieval Europe was the tritium, an educational curriculum based
upon the study of grammar, rhetoric, and logic. The later quadrivium (referring to four subjects rather than
three as represented by the tritium) emphasized the study of arithmetic, geometry, music, and astronomy.
These seven liberal arts should sound a lot like what you experienced during your formal education.

Q.1 What are Sources of Knowledge? Define scientific method and describe its different steps.
(20)
In epistemology, a common concern with respect to knowledge is what sources of information are capable
of giving knowledge.

The following are some of the major sources of knowledge:

Perception — that which can be perceived through the experiences of the senses. The view that experience
is the primary source of knowledge is called empiricism.
Reason — Reason can be considered a source of knowledge, either by deducing truths from existing
knowledge, or by learning things a priori, discovering necessary truths (such as mathematical truths)
through pure reason. The view that reason is the primary source of knowledge is called rationalism
Introspection — knowledge of one’s self that can be found through internal self-evalution. This is generally
considered to be a sort of perception. (For example, I know I am hungry or tired.)
Memory — Memory is the storage of knowledge that was learned in the past — whether it be past events
or current information.
Testimony — Testimony relies on others to acquire knowledge and communicate it to us. Some deny that
testimony can be a source of knowledge, and insist that beliefs gained through testimony must be verified
in order to be knowledge.

Management? (20)
POSDCORB is an acronym widely used in the field of Management and Public Administration
that reflects the classic view of administrative management. Largely drawn from the work of
French industrialist Henri Fayol, it first appeared in a 1937 staff paper by Luther Gulick and

Q.1 Define culture and analyze cultural diversity? Explain the influence of culture
on social development? (20)

The need to understand cultural differences is obvious today. Many societies are multicultural,
and many people and organizations collaborate across geographic and cultural boundaries.
Although it is typical for people to see themselves as unigue and to be somewhat parochial,
parochialism is not a good strategy for the future. According to Adler (1997, 10) “parochialism
means viewing the world solely through one’s own eyes and perspective. A person with a
parochial percpective neither recognizes other people’s different ways of living and working
nor appreciates that such differences have serious consequences.
